Tanglewood Mall is located at the intersection of US 220 and Route 419. The mall is currently managed by Urban Retail Properties. It originally opened for business March 28, 1973. Then naturally the Hecht’s location became Macy’s. Coordinates: 37☁344.4N 79★837.1W Tanglewood Mall is a shopping mall in southwest Roanoke County, Virginia, United States. Now…Valley View Mall HAD the Hecht’s store as May Company also bought out Thalhimer’s. Then in the course of a lot of years, various anchors have come and gone and now the mall has (as of Oct’22), TJMaxx/Home Goods, Staples, Burlington, Michael’s, Belk, and Carilion Children Clinic with the out parcels of Barnes & Noble, Kroger, and AMC Theater. *Woolco was also at Crossroads Mall and that became a KMart. This location opened in winter 2021 it was previously an A.C.
Then in 1982ish, Woolco went out of business and became a Brendle’s Showroom store. 4250 Electric Road, Suite 166, Tanglewood Mall, Roanoke, VA. The Junior Anchors were GC Murphy and Miller & Rhoads. Tanglewood came about with the following anchors in 1973 Woolco, Leggett, and JCPenney. What was here was a Miller & Rhoads (which was bought out by the May Company) but the location here was closed prior to the buy out and the Valley View Mall location was converted to a Montgomery Ward as May Company originally did not want the Valley View nor River Ridge (Lynchburg) locations. There was never a Hecht’s here at this mall. Most Tanglewood Mall stores and restaurants are OPEN on these holidays: New Year’s Day 10:00AM-6:00PM.
